Here are some current garden photos. We've started to pick cherry tomatoes! We've discovered that what we thought were butternut squash are actually some kind of pumpkin. So that was interesting.
We re-planted another crop of beets yesterday, lettice, kale and chard today. We ripped out the peas, even though they were still producing a bit. We were planning on putting a short season green bean, but decided to just put another crop of peas in a week or so. The carrots are delicious this year! I think it must be getting close to harvesting the potatoes too.
Oh yeah, I picked 18 slugs out of the garden today!

Ok, these are all mostly of me, but J took most of them and I think they are really nice.

We roasted marshmallows in our woodstove. J is demonstrating the eating of the marshmallows. You can see her collecting the roasting sticks.
Also, here is a picture of the view from our cabin and Maureen doing some drawing on the porch.

Here are some more. Maureen and I look a bit stoic on the beach, but really we were just extremely relaxed. It's so beautiful how the mountain looms over the lake. Shrouded in morning clouds makes it look even closer than it already is. We loved out little cabin and stayed toasty warm with our wood stove -- sometimes a bit too toasty warm. : )

Here is the first batch of photos from our trip to Lost Lake. It was absolutely perfect! The weather was gorgeous, our cabin was cozy, the water was frigid (but we went in anyway) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We grew some giant garlic this year. It's kinda hard to tell from the photos, but it's really big!
Now we have more empty space in the garden . . . to plant something else!

Here are a few photos of our berry picking expedition -- the stained hands and face an the harvest. Also, I stuck in a photo of Rick shucking fava beans. He looks happy.

These are for you dad. These are the nasturtiums and lillies that we planted when you were out here! They are beautiful now and the nasturtiums are climbing up into the lilac.

More beach photos. We really had one of the best times ever!

We went to the beach for a night this week. It was windy and cool, so we built a 'shelter'. It was awesome!

CORN IS KNEE HIGH ON THE 4TH OF JULY!!

This garden photo is of potatoes in the front, then garlic and fava beans and peas on the trellis. The landscape photo just shows off my beautiful mulching. The last one I had to share because it clearly shows I'm a New Englander -- It's of my little stone wall I built to keep the mulch from falling down on to the concrete. : )

Here are a few photos of our first real summer outing! We went to "Hagg Lake" and had a real nice time. It's definitely on the list for when you all come out to visit! : )

Here are a couple (kinda poor) photos of Josephine's rock concert last night. There is one with her bassist Peyton and one with her talking to her drummer Samantha before going on stage. There were about 100 people there and they did a great job. I will post the lyrics to the song she wrote at some point soon too.
